Counseling Services offers a wide range of treatments to a diverse consumer population. Individual, including children, adolescents and adults, as well as families, benefit from the psychotherapeutic services provided by Cape Counseling Services, Inc.

Outpatient & Psychiatric Therapy. After an initial assessment, consumers begin working on treatment goals with their clinical during regularly scheduled appointments. CCS focus on specialized short term (typically 6 sessions) model of treatment allows consumers to gain maximum benefits from therapeutic intervention in a short period of time.
Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services located at Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House, Screening the public mental health system's entry point for crisis intervention, evaluation, and for those individuals who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Screening is a mental health evaluation process performed by Mental Health Screeners certified by the State of NJ. The screeners assess for dangerousness to self, others, and/or property due to mental illness. Screeners may also refer individuals to appropriate community resources. Community Mobile Outreach may also be performed by screeners in which the professionals perform the evaluation in the community when appropriate. Mental Health IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) Transition Towards Wellness Cape Counseling Services, the primary community mental health agency in Cape May County, NJ, now has a mental health intensive outpatient program available. This is a 3-4 day per week program, 3 1/2 hours a day which utilizes groups, individual therapy, psycho-education and medication monitoring to work towards wellness and recovery. Transportation is available when needed.
In order to be eligible for the program, clients must be 18 years or older and a resident of Cape May County. They must have an Axis I mental health diagnosis, through they may a secondary substance abuse diagnosis as well. Clients should present with a high degree of clinical risk as evidenced by recent hospitalizations or multiple screenings. This is not a partial hospitalization program.
Specialized Services. Because many consumers benefit from sharing experience with their peers, Cape Counseling Services offers a variety of specialized group therapies. A sampling of our groups include: Outpatient & Mental Health IOP, Medication Monitoring, Medication Education, Anger Management, Relapse Prevention, Parenting groups, Women's Choices and Adolescent Drug & Alcohol.
